In an old garage in Roma Sur different new uses of art and culture are introduced. Step by step the place will be transformed to become a working place for artists, a place of exposition and a place of encounters and experiences. The structure as well as the ambiance of the existing building are kept and made more visible. It serves as inspirational source. The architectural project is independent of the existing and developed in an own language, creating a clear contrast between new and old. Forms that play with the fluidity of the space are introduced. The project is characterized by simple geometries and a dynamic composition of few pieces with specific programs. In this sense a configuration of different volumes, patios and freestanding walls are arranged in a scattered formation allowing all kinds of interactions and actions to happen in the resulting in-between areas. The spaces vary in proportion, shape and light conditions creating a highly flexible and adaptable project.
